Developed by Acumen Physician Solutions, Acumen nEHR is an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Software designed for nephrology practices. It enables them to efficiently manage, distribute and store patient health records. These records are saved within the Acumen system and can be shared among the practices’ care teams.
The web-based EHR solution has been endorsed by ICSA Labs as an Ambulatory Complete EHR and it is already being used by over 1,000 providers.
The HIPAA-compliant software allows all providers of a nephrology practice to securely access patient’s information. It displays their latest clinical reports, charts and other relevant information on a single screen.
The company also offers Practice Management services through its Acumen PM software. The program schedules patients appoint, supports CKD reporting, tracks dialysis and hospital patients and works seamlessly with Acumen nEHR and other EHR systems. The company has also incorporated its billing services in its PM solution. These services are specifically designed for nephrology practices and check patient’s insurance eligibility and conduct remittances.
The software also features a patient’s portal which allows users to schedule tasks and receive clinical information such as lab results, medical diagnosis, and prescribed medications. It also features secure communication channels ready to be utilized by providers and their patients.
Acumen nEHR also offers a mobile application that allows practices to schedule appointments, track patients throughout the practice and manage bills from their smartphones and tablets.

Cons: Acumen EHR is The variability makes it difficult to have the historical lab show up in one view to for trends.
Verdict: The lab interface with Quest seems to work well and the results are received quickly.
