The new two-way data sharing is expected to assist hospitals in gaining ground on quality improvement initiatives<\/em>.
\nIn a bid to assist hospitals in streamlining workflows for information governance and improving their clinical decision support, Wolters Kluwer Health has announced the integration of its ProVation Order Sets with Epic medical software.
\nAnnouncing the new move, Wolters Kluwer Clinical Software Solutions President and CEO David Del Toro said, “Integration has taken on greater importance as the healthcare industry continues its evolution toward quality- and value-based care.”
\nPer reports, the new integration utilizes new order set import functionality which enables seamless transfer of Smart Groups, Wolters Kluwer’s Panels and SmartSets between systems. This allows physicians to easily import order sets from Epic into ProVation, and vice versa.
\nThis new functionality is expected to help hospitals with clinical content management. It will also allow them to order set governance, preserve the details of orders from the electronic health record and structure their care setting. This bidirectional information exchange is expected to help hospitals in broadening their evidence-based practices regarding clinical quality improvement.
\nPeaceHealth Clinical Content and Decision Support Director Brian Churchill said, \u201cHaving worked with ProVation Order Sets in the past, we recognized right away how beneficial integration with our new Epic EHR would be.\u201d PeaceHealth is a 10-hospital health system functioning across the Pacific Northwest.
\nChurchill said that with this new improvement, one of the great benefits will be an electronic repository of order sets which will be stored outside the EHR and will be available during EHR downtime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
