The University of Vermont Health Network has seamlessly accomplished phase two of its Epic EMR Software<\/a> implementation. The main goal of this implementation is to enhance care coordination by promoting easy access to patient health data. This data is crucial for healthcare providers to make decisions for effective patient treatment plans.<\/p>\n

Epic EMR Software solutions have been deployed by Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) and Porter Medical Center (PMC) for their outpatient services. The second phase of the software implementation has added emergency visits, surgical services, rehabilitation, and inpatient hospital to the Electronic Health Records software system.<\/p>\n

Through this valuable Epic implementation, the network aims to improve care coordination<\/a> between providers by having real-time and updated access to patient health information without any glitches.<\/p>\n

The implementation also has the goal to boost patient engagement. This will happen by making it possible for PMC and CVMC patients to seamlessly access billing data and outpatient medical information in Epic\u2019s MyChart which is an online patient portal platform. MyChart is a powerful tool that enables patients to securely share their medical records and have all their health information in one place. The online patient portal helps patients engage in their healthcare process, empowering them and ultimately improving patient satisfaction.<\/p>\n

The unified EHR Software solution will facilitate patients by reducing patient wait times and also giving them the access they want from their healthcare facility. This is certainly valuable for both patients and providers \u2013 Patients can navigate their healthcare process easily and healthcare providers have instant access to updated medical information which is a driving tool to provide high-quality care.<\/p>\n

Previously, the hospitals in the network used various EHR Software systems to manage patient records. However, making it inefficient for patient data exchange and caused problems for both patients and physicians. The Epic EHR Software implementation will enhance care coordination between hospitals, primary care providers, and specialists benefiting the patient in the form of positive health outcomes.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of staff members in the network have been trained to navigate the new EHR Software system to their complete benefit.
